Big Tech names Falter

Well, the tech rally looks like it was a one-day affair. Many of those big names saw their shares decline today. Retailers did well with the likes of Walmart, Costco, TJX, and Target all higher. But mostly it was a bad day for stocks.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 105 points to finish the day at 52,553. The S&P 500 was down 38 points to close at 7,533. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 387 points to close at 25,881. Gold was down $72 to trade at $3,980 per ounce, while oil was down $.54 to trade at $79.06 per barrel WTI.

We get a look at earnings from Netflix after the close today and then we really ramp it up next week with reports from 3M, GM, Alphabet, Tesla, Intel, Union Pacific, Honeywell, American Express and Verizon. The following week we’ll hear from Visa, Coca-Cola, Boeing, UPS, Microsoft, Meta, P&G, Apple, Amazon, and Mastercard- just to name a few. Needless to say, it will be a busy earnings calendar over the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned.

Have a nice evening everyone.
