The market averages were mixed, but the emphasis was still for higher stock prices in general. The recovery in the bond market (rates down a bit) and lower oil prices helped set the tone for the bulls.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 118 points to finish the day at 50,461. The S&P 500 was up 45 points to close at 7,519. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 312 points to close at 26,656. Gold was down $17 to trade at $4,506 per ounce, while oil was down $2.90 to trade at $93.70 per barrel WTI.

The bulls appear to be able to handle whatever is tossed their way at the moment. Let’s see how the week plays out.

Have a nice evening everyone.
