Stocks were mixed today as market participants wrestle with higher energy prices, falling bond prices (higher yields) and the threats of military action heating back up in Iran. The Dow was today’s winner while the Nasdaq saw some profit taking. Then this week we get earnings from tech giant Nvidia on Wednesday after the close. Never a dull moment.

As for today, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 159 points to finish the day at 49,686. The S&P 500 was down 5 points to close at 7,403. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 134 points to close at 26,090. Gold was up $3 to trade at $4,565 per ounce while oil was up $.41 to trade at $105.83 per barrel WTI.

This was the second day in a row where we are seeing some of the air come out of the big tech names that populate the Nasdaq. Global macro concerns along with earnings from the biggest name in the market should provide plenty of action this week. Stay tuned.
