It was a good combination for the bulls, lower oil prices, and lower interest rates. The market averages all moved higher and May will end up being another good month for stocks. This bull market keeps pushing ahead despite any headwinds that arise.

For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 363 points to close at 51,032. The S&P 500 was up 16 points to close at 7,580. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 55 points to close at 26,972. Gold was up $51 to trade at $4,584 per ounce, while oil was down $1.03 to trade at $87.87 per barrel.

As we have mentioned, earnings have justified the rise in stock prices so far this year. Yes, inflation is a problem, rising interest rates is concerning, and war is always unpredictable, but for the moment the bulls hold the high ground and are firmly entrenched. On to June.

Have a great weekend everyone.
