Stocks Up As Quarter End Arrives
Friends
It was a good day for stocks led by the recently beleaguered Nasdaq as we saw some of those big tech names finally bought. Yes, hostilities were paused once again between the U.S. and Iran, but that story seems to change almost hourly. Alphabet (Google) was added to the Dow today and the shares moved smartly higher. Tomorrow will be the last trading day of the first half of the year and the bulls are still pressing the action.
By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 306 points to finish the day at 52,182. The S&P 500 was up 86 points to close at 7,440. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 522 points to close at 25,820. Gold was down $64 to trade at $4,032 per ounce, while oil was up $1.20 to trade at $70.43 per barrel WTI.
Remember, it is a shortened trading week with Friday closed for the 4th of July holiday. Let’s first see how the quarter ends tomorrow. Stay tuned.
Have a nice evening everyone.
