Stocks Higher Before Fed Decision
Friends
Stocks continued the good start to the week, especially the Nasdaq, as we wait for earnings releases from Alphabet and Microsoft tomorrow. We will also get the Fed’s decision on monetary policy tomorrow (we are not expecting any movement on interest rates at this meeting). Today we saw that market participants liked what they heard from UPS, thought Coca-Cola’s numbers were ok and greatly disliked everything they heard from Boeing.
As for the market averages, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 15 points to finish the day at 52,377. The S&P 500 was up 45 points to close at 7,722. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 308 points to close at 26,477. Gold was up $38 to trade at $4,076 per ounce, while oil was down $1.90 to trade at $99.86 per barrel WTI.
Corporate Earnings and a Fed Decision. Should be an interesting day of trading tomorrow.
Have a nice evening everyone.
